maintains the existing level of effort; and is satisfied with incremental marginal growth.<\/span><\/h5><h5><span style=\"color: #000080;\">It focuses on improving its business operations and improving functional efficiencies through better deployment of resources.<\/span><\/h5>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-f4d7949 e-flex e-con-boxed e-con e-parent\" data-id=\"f4d7949\" data-element_type=\"container\" data-e-type=\"container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"e-con-inner\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-aea0d96 exad-sticky-section-no exad-glass-effect-no elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"aea0d96\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<h5><span style=\"color: #000080;\">As Jauch and Glueck observe, a stability strategy is a strategy that a firm pursues when:<\/span><\/h5><h5><span style=\"color: #000080;\">It continues to serve the customers in the same product or service, market, and functional sectors as defined in its business definition, or in very similar sectors.<\/span><\/h5><h5><span style=\"color: #000080;\">Its main strategic decisions focus on incremental improvement of functional performance.<\/span><\/h5>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-1e15776 e-con-full e-flex e-con e-child\" data-id=\"1e15776\" data-element_type=\"container\" data-e-type=\"container\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-f2c0d83 exad-sticky-section-no exad-glass-effect-no elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"f2c0d83\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<h5><span style=\"color: #000080;\">The stability strategy is not a &#8220;do nothing&#8221; strategy.<\/span><\/h5><h5><span style=\"color: #000080;\">As indicated above, it may involve incremental improvements.<\/span><\/h5><h5><span style=\"color: #000080;\">It also requires adoption of appropriate competitive strategies to remain successful in the business.<\/span><\/h5><h5><span style=\"color: #000080;\">It may also have to make offensive and defensive moves vis-a- vis the competitors.<\/span><\/h5><h5><span style=\"color: #000080;\">Long-term stability strategy also requires reinvestment, R&amp;D and innovation. However, the business definition remains the same.<\/span><\/h5>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-fdb1cdc e-flex e-con-boxed e-con e-parent\" data-id=\"fdb1cdc\" data-element_type=\"container\" data-e-type=\"container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"e-con-inner\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-70d6850 exad-sticky-section-no exad-glass-effect-no elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"70d6850\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<h5><span style=\"color: #000080;\">In short, this &#8220;do-the-same thing&#8221; strategy endeavours to &#8220;do-the-same thing better.&#8221;<\/span><\/h5><h5><span style=\"color: #000080;\">This strategy is common with large and dominant companies in mature industries where the important challenge is to maintain the current position.<\/span><\/h5><h5><span style=\"color: #000080;\">Another category of industries this strategy is common with is the regulated industries such as alcoholic beverages, tobacco products, etc.<\/span><\/h5><h5><span style=\"color: #000080;\">Many family dominated small and medium companies also prefer this strategy.<\/span><\/h5>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-302f5a7 e-flex e-con-boxed e-con e-parent\" data-id=\"302f5a7\" data-element_type=\"container\" data-e-type=\"container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"e-con-inner\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-3b214ca exad-sticky-section-no exad-glass-effect-no elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"3b214ca\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<h5><span style=\"color: #000080;\">A firm may choose stability overgrowth by continuing its current activities without any significant change in its path.<\/span><\/h5><h5><span style=\"color: #000080;\">A firm following a stability strategy continues its current business and product portfolios; maintains the existing level of effort; and is satisfied with incremental marginal growth.<\/span><\/h5><h5><span style=\"color: #000080;\">It focuses on improving its business operations and improving functional efficiencies through better deployment of resources.<\/span><\/h5>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-cb0a5cc e-flex e-con-boxed e-con e-parent\" data-id=\"cb0a5cc\" data-element_type=\"container\" data-e-type=\"container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"e-con-inner\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-1aadbed exad-sticky-section-no exad-glass-effect-no elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"1aadbed\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<h5><span style=\"color: #000080;\">In other words, a firm is said to follow a stability\/ consolidation strategy if:<\/span><\/h5><h5><span style=\"color: #000080;\">1. It decides to serve the same markets with the same products.<\/span><\/h5><h5><span style=\"color: #000080;\">2. It continues to pursue the same objectives with a strategic push for incremental improvement of functional performances.<\/span><\/h5><h5><span style=\"color: #000080;\">3. It focuses on its resources in a narrow product-market sphere for developing a meaningful competitive advantage.<\/span><\/h5>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-07c5abc e-flex e-con-boxed e-con e-parent\" data-id=\"07c5abc\" data-element_type=\"container\" data-e-type=\"container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"e-con-inner\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-c106298 exad-sticky-section-no exad-glass-effect-no elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"c106298\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<h5><span style=\"color: #000080;\">Following a stability strategy does not mean that a firm lacks concern for business growth. It only means that their growth targets are modest and that they wish to maintain the status quo. Since products, markets and functions remain unchanged, a stability strategy is basically a defensive strategy.<\/span><\/h5><h5><span style=\"color: #000080;\">Stability strategy is perceived as a non-growth strategy. As a matter of fact, a stability strategy does provide space for growth, though to a limited extent, in the existing product-market area to achieve current business objectives.
