Setting team goals is a primary contribution for you as a leader to the organization, having the ability to produce outcomes from your team that serves the company goals is an essential focus for leaders.<\/span>

Listen, listen, listen. We cannot stress enough on how important it is for you to listen to your team as a leader.<\/span><\/h5>
Listening is your primary channel for new information, especially if it’s your team who’s talking.<\/span><\/h5>
You could be a new leader or an experienced leader but you must NEVER stop listening to your team and asking them for feedback.<\/span><\/h5>
Your team is the execution and if their execution is done smartly, they would be inspired to give more.<\/span><\/h5>
Your role as a leader is to give them the chance to speak their minds out, they could have a much better way to accomplish something that could save time and ultimately save money, what’s better in the management’s eye than saving some money?.<\/span><\/h5>

As a leader, you’re accountable for the team but you’re also accountable for putting in some work with them.<\/span>
This involvement could vary from an organization to another depending on its size but you definitely must have a certain level of contribution in the team goals.<\/span>
Make this one clear for the team so they can know what to expect from you and what you are willing to give more attention to.<\/span>

This reliable team member who you can just pick up the phone and give them a task blindly trusting that they will do the job right.<\/span><\/h5>
It’s a great asset to have this team but there are a few of tricky situations that you must be attentive to:<\/span><\/h5>
A. You trust this person more so, you’ll give them all the work: not balancing your leadership between your team members will create groups inside if your team and will appear as if you have favoritism which is a crucial integrity issue<\/span><\/h5>
B. You won’t know your team strengths or give others an opportunity:** always relying on one person or two team members working together will always be a weakness for a leader, your job is to know the team members and putting their areas of strengths in the right place so they can produce the most value<\/span><\/h5>
C. You don’t give enough time for other team members: your team is your main asset, giving them your time and attention to understand their weaknesses and help them develop is your ultimate success.<\/span><\/h5>
If the team succeeds, you will naturally succeed.<\/span><\/h5>
Creating development plans and setting performance expectations is the way you should always focus on.<\/span><\/h5>
