Lesson 1: Describing futures with clarity<\/h2>\n

Reliability
\n<\/h3>\n

Reliability completes consistency. It refers to the ability to do what you say you will do to achieve a certain task or a project. Being a reliable leader makes the organisation look at you in an indispensable manner. A reliable leader is someone who shows up at tough times and can be trusted without actual checkpoints because the reliability level is high. Imagine you have someone in your team that you can just pick up the phone and ask them to do something and you have full faith that they will complete it at their best, that is reliability. Reliability is built over time and in different situations, it’s not seen unless there’s a consistency to really show it.<\/h5>\n
It doesn’t matter what your level is at an organisation, always aim to be a reliable person. Regardless of your position, title, or tenure, reliability can and should be a main thought of your reputation. Essentially, we all aim to have reliable people in our lives and avoid the unreliable ones who always disappoint us. Make sure you are worth collecting!<\/h5>\n
Developing reliability is rather simple, knowing what you agree on and committing to it, and how to say no when you can’t do something, sounds easy right? It’s exactly how it sounds.<\/h5>\n
Being committed to delivering what you promised on time will show what you’re made of disregarding the circumstances. Don’t give in to excuses of why a task is late or a project is not reaching its objective. Don’t confuse delivering a task post-deadline as a commitment gesture, it’s the base expectation, and what exceeds is delivering it on time. Delivering on time, or before that, if you could, shows that you’re a very reliable person.<\/h5>\n
Saying no to the things you can’t accomplish manages the expectation of others. Saying no could be the expectation, how you say no is exceeding this expectation. You can’t just reject things once they are at your table just because of your assumption that it might take longer or will be difficult and here’s what you can do:<\/h5>\n
If you have to reject something, do it gently. Remember, it’s not what you say, it’s how you say it. Just gently explain that you care about others’ success but you don’t want your current occupancy affecting this and if you have to give further explanation then do it.<\/h5>\n
Offer help later, rejecting things can be done and you did great rejecting what you can’t accomplish at the moment, here’s a trick to make you look much more reliable. Offer help.
