You may think that your decisions to this point have made the principal difference in the success of your company.<\/h5>\n<h5>You can imagine your individual efforts over a long time, from making comprehensive and hard hitting presentations, to writing big strategic plans about the future of your organisation, with the goal of increasing profit.<\/h5>\n<h5>So the question is, why do you need to empower your team? The answer to that is very simple, because no one succeeds on their own.<\/h5>\n<h5>You might be blinded by all of the above reasons but the truth is, your team is the main essence of your success.<\/h5>\n<h5>You might be a great leader but you wouldn&#8217;t be called a leader if you didn&#8217;t have someone helping you along the way by being led by you.<\/h5>\n<h5>Leaders who do not believe in the idea of empowerment can become isolated from their teams, and that can diminish the long-term success of the organisation.<\/h5>\n<h5>They can also become micro-managers who insist that only their ideas are valid, examine too critically the work of others, and make their decisions in a vacuum.<\/h5>\n<h5>They may not allow for the power of consensus and they can be against new ideas.<\/h5>\n<h5>The positive power of innovation and critical thinking which is often bottom-up driven can be swept aside.<\/h5>\n<h5>This is especially true the more senior you get as a leader when your leadership skills and competence will be employed indirectly vice directly.<\/h5>\n<h5>Because of this you must rely strongly on empowerment.<\/h5>\n<h5>Empowerment then is not a nice to have a concept, it is essential to lead a high-performing team.<\/h5>\n<h5>How would you empower your team?
