Strong team members are the most empowered team members.<\/h5>\n
These are the team members that you have no problem including them in decision making, to give them a participatory role that capitalizes on their own expertise and judgment, and that increases their sense of both individual worth and commitment to the organisation.<\/h5>\n
Empowering leaders to share power with their subordinates, giving them decision-making authority.<\/h5>\n
They also express confidence in employees’ abilities to perform their jobs autonomously with the least supervision needed.<\/h5>\n
Empowerment also demonstrates that you have good listening skills and that you care about the input of everyone on your team.<\/h5>\n
When you empower your team, you motivate them to “row together”, and you increase the overall success of your mission.<\/h5>\n
Empowering builds confidence in their capacity to execute your collective mission and goals, establishes essential trust in an organisation, and creates the secondary level of leadership necessary when you are not present for key decisions so that the organisation continues.<\/h5>\n
Empowerment sounds great, but leadership is principally about the human dimension so nothing is always simple.<\/h5>\n
Embracing empowerment may run against the personality of some leaders.<\/h5>\n
Once you are in charge of a team or an organisation you may believe that your presence and your decisions alone are responsible for its success.<\/h5>\n

You have worked hard and long to get to the top. You may think that your decisions to this point have made the principal difference in the success of your company.<\/h5>\n
You can imagine your individual efforts over a long time, from making comprehensive and hard hitting presentations, to writing big strategic plans about the future of your organisation, with the goal of increasing profit.<\/h5>\n
So the question is, why do you need to empower your team? The answer to that is very simple, because no one succeeds on their own.<\/h5>\n
You might be blinded by all of the above reasons but the truth is, your team is the main essence of your success.<\/h5>\n
You might be a great leader but you wouldn’t be called a leader if you didn’t have someone helping you along the way by being led by you.<\/h5>\n
Leaders who do not believe in the idea of empowerment can become isolated from their teams, and that can diminish the long-term success of the organisation.<\/h5>\n
They can also become micro-managers who insist that only their ideas are valid, examine too critically the work of others, and make their decisions in a vacuum.<\/h5>\n
They may not allow for the power of consensus and they can be against new ideas.<\/h5>\n
The positive power of innovation and critical thinking which is often bottom-up driven can be swept aside.<\/h5>\n
This is especially true the more senior you get as a leader when your leadership skills and competence will be employed indirectly vice directly.<\/h5>\n
Because of this you must rely strongly on empowerment.<\/h5>\n
Empowerment then is not a nice to have a concept, it is essential to lead a high-performing team.<\/h5>\n
How would you empower your team? The answer to this is also very simple.<\/h5>\n

So you’ve empowered your team by following the simple three steps above, what is inspiration? Inspirational leadership is the ability to be a positive influence on those around you and motivate others toward success.<\/h5>\n
Leaders of any experience level can practice inspirational leadership, whether they are executive or newly promoted managers.<\/h5>\n
Inspiration stimulates the team to reflect internally and when values are aligned, deep emotional drivers are engaged, the team member is moved and motivated to act and raise their level of performance to achieve higher goals.<\/h5>\n
Inspiration awakens us to new possibilities by allowing us to exceed our ordinary experiences and limitations, it moves a person towards possibility, and transforms the way we perceive our own capabilities and limitations.<\/h5>\n
Inspirational motivation is when a leader exudes and communicates excellence, and takes the time to honestly and with integrity, focus on the value of the self, the other person, and the task at hand.<\/h5>\n
Put simply; they motivate you to be better.<\/h5>\n
Looking at inspiring figures over time, one of them is Mahatma Gandhi, whom we mentioned earlier.<\/h5>\n
Imagine being able to inspire a whole nation to protest peacefully with no violence and no changing principles.<\/h5>\n
Same applies to leaders in the business world, imagine your influence as an inspirational leader on your team.<\/h5>\n
When you see them turn into leaders themselves, they make you proud and mention you as their inspiration to become a positive impact leader that they encountered in their journey to leadership.<\/h5>\n
