\/>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/p>\n<h5>Now moving to a very exciting method of performance appraisal that&#8217;s called, Management by objectives or MBO.<\/h5>\n<h5>Management by objectives is a method of performance appraisals that are not based on the targets that are set by the leaders on their own.<\/h5>\n<h5>In order for it to work, it has to be defined by both the leader and the team member individually.<\/h5>\n<h5>It&#8217;s an exciting way of doing performance appraisals but it could get a little time-consuming doing it for everyone.<\/h5>\n<h5>Usually, MBO is done in the middle of a process for a performance improvement plan (PIP) so the leader and the person being set on the plan to make sure they are fully aligned on the objective or the goal they&#8217;re trying to reach.<\/h5>\n<h5>In other words, if the team members themselves are involved in setting the targets, they would be more motivated to reach them and accept if there&#8217;s a discussion about poor performance.<\/h5>\n<h5>The MBO is a straightforward 6 step process:<\/h5>\n<details id=\"e-n-accordion-item-5860\" open>\n<summary data-accordion-index=\"1\" tabindex=\"0\" aria-expanded=\"true\"
