One real-life case study of social constructionism in an organisation is the implementation of diversity and inclusion initiatives at Microsoft. In 2014, the CEO of Microsoft, Satya Nadella, announced a new diversity and inclusion initiative aimed at increasing diversity within the company.<\/h5>\n
This initiative was rooted in the social constructionist perspective that diversity is not a fixed trait of individuals, but rather a social construct that is shaped by cultural and historical contexts.<\/h5>\n
Microsoft’s diversity and inclusion initiative involved a number of strategies, including training programs to raise awareness about unconscious bias, creating employee resource groups for underrepresented groups, and implementing a diversity recruiting program.<\/h5>\n
