Both customer service and trustworthiness are competencies that can make people outstanding in their work.<\/h5>\n<h5 tabindex=\"0\" data-element-id=\"ebookHeading4\" data-node-type=\"text\" data-magic=\"col-description\">Simply being high in emotional intelligence does not guarantee a person will have learned the emotional competencies that matter for work<\/h5>\n<h5 tabindex=\"0\" data-element-id=\"ebookHeading4\" data-node-type=\"text\" data-magic=\"col-description\">It means only that they have excellent potential to learn them<\/h5>\n<h5 tabindex=\"0\" data-element-id=\"ebookHeading4\" data-node-type=\"text\" data-magic=\"col-description\">A person might be highly empathic, for example, and yet not have learned the skills based on empathy that translate into superior customer service<\/h5>\n<p>\u00a0\t\t<\/p>\n<h3>Emotional competencies cluster into groups<br \/>\n<\/h3>\n<h5 tabindex=\"0\" data-element-id=\"ebookHeading4\" data-node-type=\"text\" data-magic=\"col-description\">Each based on a common underlying emotional intelligence capacity.<\/h5>\n<h5 tabindex=\"0\" data-element-id=\"ebookHeading4\" data-node-type=\"text\" data-magic=\"col-description\">The underlying emotional intelligence capacities are vital if people are to successfully learn the competencies necessary to succeed in the workplace<\/h5>\n<h5 tabindex=\"0\" data-element-id=\"ebookHeading4\" data-node-type=\"text\" data-magic=\"col-description\">If they are deficient in social skills, for instance, they will be inept at persuading or inspiring others<\/h5>\n<h5 tabindex=\"0\" data-element-id=\"ebookHeading4\" data-node-type=\"text\" data-magic=\"col-description\">There are several emotional intelligence capacities that fall under the five clusters of emotional competencies.
