Theory X assumes that individuals are inherently lazy and dislike work, and therefore need to be closely monitored and controlled.<\/h5>\n<h5>Managers who hold Theory X assumptions tend to rely on external rewards and punishments to motivate their employees. On the other hand, Theory Y suggests that individuals are self-motivated and enjoy work, viewing it as a natural part of their lives.<\/h5>\n<h5>Managers who adopt Theory Y assumptions believe in empowering employees, promoting autonomy, and providing opportunities for growth and development.
